To mark the 30th anniversary, Elrick Bass Guitars® and Cort® have joined forces again to launch the new Cort® Elrick NJS basses. The NJS, or New Jazz Standard, are modern J - bass style bass guitars. Using your Cort NJS5 - BK Rob Elrick Signature Bass Guitar is a breeze. First, make sure the strings are properly tuned using the Hipshot® Ultralite tuning machines. You can use an electronic tuner for accuracy. Plug your bass into an amplifier using a standard instrument cable. The Bartolini® Elrick NJS Special Preamp allows you to adjust the tone to your liking. Turn the knobs to find the perfect balance of bass, mid, and treble. When you're done playing, always put the bass back in its case to protect it from dust and potential damage. As for maintenance, clean the strings after each use with a soft cloth to remove dirt and sweat. This will keep them sounding good for longer. Every few months, check the frets for wear and tear. If you notice any rough spots, you can use a fret file to smooth them out. Also, make sure to keep the bass in a room with a stable temperature and humidity to prevent the wood from warping.
