Product Description

Throughout his long career, starting from hardcore punk and shining with Sunny Day Real Estate and the Foo Fighters, Nate Mendel, a melodic yet powerful bassist, has always relied on his 1971 Precision Bass®. Now, Fender presents the Nate Mendel P Bass. It's modeled after his well - loved and battle - tested instrument, featuring special body contours, an extra - slim neck, a lightly worn finish, and a powerful Seymour Duncan® pickup. The bass has an Ash body with a Nitrocellulose Lacquer finish. Its Rosewood fretboard has a 7.25' (184.1 mm) radius, 20 frets, and white pearloid dot inlays. It comes with a 3 - ply black pickguard, Seymour Duncan® Basslines SPB - 3 pickups, a Fender HiMass™ bridge, Fender® 7250M strings, and '70s vintage - style tuning machines. The hardware has a chrome finish, and it includes a gig bag.

Using your Fender Nate Mendel Precision Bass is easy. First, make sure the strings are properly tuned using the Fender® '70s Vintage - Style Stamped Open - Gear tuning machines. Plug in your bass to an amplifier and adjust the volume and tone according to your preference. When playing, hold the bass firmly with one hand on the neck and the other near the pickups to pluck the strings. As for maintenance, keep the bass in a dry place when not in use to prevent the wood from warping. Wipe the strings with a clean cloth after each use to remove sweat and dirt. You can also use a guitar polish to keep the body's Nitrocellulose Lacquer finish looking good. Be careful not to drop the bass or subject it to rough handling as it can damage the sensitive components like the Seymour Duncan® pickups. When transporting, use the included gig bag to protect it.
