Product Description

Few musicians in music history have changed the industry overnight and continued to shape music culture three decades after their prime. Kurt Cobain and Nirvana burst onto the scene in the early '90s. Their unique blend of raucous, heavy tones, punk energy, and melodic hooks created a sound that won millions of fans and made grunge and alternative rock mainstream. Although Kurt played various Fender guitars, his Fender Jaguar® and Mustang® are the most iconic, thanks to their appearance on the “Nevermind” tour and in the “Smells Like Teen Spirit” video. In 1993, Kurt designed the Jag-Stang® by combining his favorite features of both guitars, with help from the Fender Custom Shop. To mark the 30th anniversary of Nirvana's “Nevermind,” this Jag-Stang has the same features that made it Kurt's go-to instrument. The alder body offers a punchy tone for big power chords. The 24” short-scale reduces string tension for easy playing. The 7.25” radius rosewood fingerboard with a maple neck feels comfortable, so your hands won't get tired when chording. The vintage-style single-coil and custom humbucking pickups can recreate Kurt's classic tones, and the Mustang slider switches let you choose from four distinct settings for different in or out-of-phase tones. Specifications: Body Shape: Jag-Stang; Body Material: Alder; Body Finish: Gloss Polyester; Neck Profile: Slim 'C'; Fretboard Material: Rosewood; Fretboard Radius: 7.25' (184.1 mm); Scale Length: 24' (610 mm); No. of Frets: 22; Fretboard Inlays: White Pearloid Dot; Pickups: Jag-Stang Humbucking (Bridge), Jag-Stang Single-Coil (Neck); Bridge: 6-Saddle Vintage-Style Mustang Tremolo; Pickguard: 4-Ply Aged White Pearloid; Strings: Fender® USA 250R Nickel Plated Steel (.010-.046 Gauges), PN 0730250406; Tuning Machines: Vintage-Style; Hardware Finish: Nickel/Chrome; Case: Deluxe Gig Bag.

Using this Fender Jag-Stang electric guitar is a breeze. First, tune the guitar using the vintage-style tuning machines to get the right pitch. The Mustang slider switches give you four different tone settings, so you can experiment to find the sound you like, whether it's for playing along to Nirvana songs or creating your own music. When you're playing, the short 24” scale length and the comfortable feel of the rosewood fingerboard with a maple neck will make it easy on your hands, even during long practice sessions. As for maintenance, keep the guitar in its deluxe gig bag when you're not using it to protect it from dust and scratches. Wipe down the strings with a clean cloth after each use to remove sweat and dirt, which can help prevent corrosion. Check the tuning regularly, especially if you're traveling with the guitar. And remember, the alder body is quite durable, but try to avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity, as this can affect the guitar's performance and appearance.
