The first genuine CuNiFe®-magnet-powered Wide Range pickup in over 40 years offers a rich, bell-like humbucking tone with deep bass and clear treble. CuNiFe pickups have 'hi-fi' clarity and maintain their attack and definition even under heavy play. A chrome cover with a '3+3' exposed pole piece design and the Fender logo gives it a vintage '70s look. In the 1970s, as popular music embraced the fatter tones of humbuckers, Fender enlisted renowned pickup designer Seth Lover to craft a high-output dual-coil pickup with a distinct Fender flavor. The Wide Range pickup used large bobbins and threaded CuNiFe-rod magnets for its uniquely brilliant sound, heard on that era's Telecaster® Custom, Thinline, and Deluxe guitars. Musicians of all genres have sought these original CuNiFe-magnet pickups for decades, but they disappeared when the Telecaster Custom was discontinued in 1979.
