This is a vinyl LP of 'Angel Eyes' by The Dave Brubeck Quartet. Inspired by great songbook albums from artists like Ella Fitzgerald and Oscar Peterson, Dave Brubeck paid tribute to Matt Dennis's music. Born in Seattle on February 11, 1914, Dennis was a prolific songwriter. In one year, the Dorsey band recorded fourteen of his songs, including 'Everything Happens to Me,' a hit for Frank Sinatra early on. The album is on Pan Am Records and was released in 2024. The track list features great tunes on both sides. Side A has 'Let's Get Away From It All,' 'Violets For Your Furs,' and 'Angel Eyes,' plus a bonus track 'Slow and Easy [Aka Lawless Mike].' Side B includes 'Will You Still Be Mine,' 'Everything Happens To Me,' 'Little Man With a Candy Cigar,' and 'The Night We Called It a Day.'
