The Scarlett OctoPre is the perfect 8-channel addition for any Scarlett or other digital interface with ADAT inputs. ADAT is a straightforward and efficient way to boost the number of simultaneous recording channels in your studio. With eight channels of Focusrite's second-generation Scarlett preamps and precise A-D conversion up to 192 kHz sample rates, it's an excellent choice for expanding your studio's input capabilities. It also comes with eight balanced line outputs, directly from the respective mic preamps, making it great for live stage use. The eight natural-sounding second-generation Scarlett mic/line inputs offer high headroom, plenty of clean gain, low noise, and minimal distortion, perfect for recording drums, guitars, keyboards, vocals, and more. The front panel has two newly-designed instrument inputs with extended headroom. ADAT outputs let you connect to any interface or digital system with ADAT optical inputs, and analogue line outputs allow you to feed an analogue console while recording with the digital outputs. Features include eight natural-sounding second-generation Scarlett mic preamps, eight balanced line inputs, Focusrite precision A-D conversion up to 192 kHz sample rates, dual front-panel instrument inputs, a pad on every channel for extra headroom (ideal for loud sources like drums), eight balanced line outputs (great for live use), accurate 5-segment LED input metering, simple ADAT connectivity via optical cables, 48V Phantom power on every channel for condenser mics, and state-of-the-art digital clocking with Word Clock I/O for syncing with external devices.

Using the Focusrite Scarlett Octopre is easy. First, connect it to your interface or digital system with ADAT optical inputs using the optical cables for simple ADAT connectivity. You can also use the analogue line outputs to feed an analogue console at the same time. When recording, the eight natural-sounding mic/line inputs are great for various instruments and vocals. If you're recording loud sources like drums, use the pad on each channel for extra headroom. The dual front-panel instrument inputs are handy for direct instrument connections. For condenser mics, make sure to turn on the 48V Phantom power on each channel. Regarding maintenance, keep it in a clean and dry place. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity. If there's dust, use a soft, dry cloth to clean it. When syncing with external devices, use the Word Clock I/O for accurate state-of-the-art digital clocking. Always check the 5-segment LED input metering to ensure proper input levels.
