In 1997, Fender Custom Shop designers met Donal Gallagher, brother of the late great guitarist Rory Gallagher, in Los Angeles. They got Gallagher's well - worn 1961 Stratocaster® guitar, a highly sought - after instrument. Fender first made 40 replicas for the European market, but then faced a flood of requests for more. The Rory Gallagher Tribute Stratocaster is an exact copy of that respected guitar. It has an extremely worn three - color sunburst alder body, a maple neck, and a rosewood fingerboard. It comes with five Sperzel® tuners and one Gotoh® tuner, and the 12th - fret dot marker is white plastic instead of the original clay. This guitar features three custom - wound '60s single - coil pickups, aged chrome hardware, 21 medium jumbo frets, and a synthetic bone nut. It's our tribute to a truly missed master.

Using this Fender Rory Gallagher Tribute Stratocaster is a breeze. Just tune it up using the tuners. The five Sperzel® and one Gotoh® tuners will help you get the right pitch quickly. Then, start strumming or picking with the three custom - wound '60s single - coil pickups to get that classic sound. When you're done playing, always put it back in the deluxe hardshell case to protect it. As for maintenance, keep the guitar in a place with stable temperature and humidity. Wipe it down with a soft cloth after each use to keep the nitrocellulose lacquer finish looking great. Also, check the strings regularly. When they start to sound dull or look worn, replace them with the Fender® USA 250R nickel - plated steel strings. And don't forget to take care of the hardware.
